Several years ago Alix met her husband, Bruce, who helped in creating their successful art business with one-of-a-kind furniture, wall hangings and painted scenes. Her unique hand-painted gourds are also a speciality art form for Alix. Their specialty has become the pen and ink drawings that Alix does on hardwoods. Her subject ranges from horses, wildlife, Native American themes and commission work.
Most of the wood used comes from specialty dealers who supply rare and beautiful cuts to make musical instruments, furniture and cabinets. Alix and Bruce have diversified by making tables, wall hangings, room dividers, fireplace screens and mirrors. Alix draws large renderings in colored pencil of famous historical Native Americans and also still life including cabbages, peppers, and sunflowers taht are grown on their 12 acre property.
