Of Blackfoot decent, Michael W. Loomis has been working with art for about 10 years. Michael got inspired when he went to visit Horseshoe Canyon Utah. There he saw "The Great Gallery" from the ancient Freemont People. While there, Michael felt the spirit of the peoples drawings on the rocks move through him. These paintings are over 5000 years old. Upon returning home, Michael felt compelled to carve Katchina dolls and other Native art forms.
Michael also loves to flint nap with obsidian that he collects himself. Michael goes out hiking and exploring to get his inspiration for his projects. Along with art, Michael enjoys playing flute and drumming. Michael has a strong belief in the Native American way of life and believes that if everyone lived like the Native Americans then the world would be a much better place.
